Rather than anger, passion or danger that the colour red is associated with in the west, in China, this colour represents blessings, wealth and happiness (as well as romantic love, of course).
Red can be found everywhere – from personal belongings like clothes, cars and decorations, to the national flag, temples and traditional operatic costumes.
